While I have been crafting in various forms for years, wood burning has been an on-again, off-again art for me. It started, as it usually does, with things that I made for friends and family. I made a couple of shelves for my son's room when he was born, then a toy chest, followed by a chest for my own room. A few more pieces here and there, mostly as gifts. I sort of just dabbled after that while I finished college and followed my Coastie husband all over the country. Then we had our daughter.
I got back into it sort of as an impulse when I made a birthday gift for a friend of ours. I continued on in that vein, until I made a gift for a former exchange student. It was that last one that was seen by another Etsy seller, Mary from A Scent From The Heart, who encouraged me to open a shop and asked me to make one for her to buy.
So, here I am! Enjoying the process and excited to make people smile. I love to know that something I created is being enjoyed and put to good use, and is something that can be passed down for years to come. It's a special feeling, and one that is hard to replicate in any other way. Read More
